Welcome to Zonin
Domenico Zonin, the second of ten children, was born to a family of farmers in 1899. He immediately showed signs of an enterprising character and curiosity, especially for the world of wine, to the extent that he was involved from a very young age in the cultivation of family’s vineyards located in the hills in Gambellara.
As soon as the Great War was over, at the age of 22, he asked his father for his portion of inheritance and with the money he received he began a small-scale production of wines and spirits that he distributed in neighbouring areas. The founding of the Zonin winery, based in Gambellara, dates back to this period, to 1921 to be precise, and despite the hardship of the war years and the post-war period, business continued to expand.
